I have volunteered for various local animal rescues for years and have fostered dozens of dogs in my home. I am also the President/Co-Founder of a dog advocacy group called Ohio Coaliton of Dog Advocates. I would like to expand to actually rescue dogs and some cats. My plan is to take in dogs (and some cats) that need rescued and house them in foster homes until they are adopted. I need volunteers in Ohio to agree to foster rescued dogs in their own homes until they are adopted into forever homes. I am in the very early planning stages and do not have all the details worked out yet. At this point, I am simply trying to see if I can get enough foster homes to make the rescue effective. If I get enough foster volunteers, I hope to have the rescue up and running within 6 months.

NOTE: I am very partial to those breeds of dogs called "pit bulls" and the rescue will take in these dogs. When you respond, please let me know if you are willing to foster "pit bulls". Obviously, if you do not want to foster "pit bulls", you can still foster other breeds or cats.

If you are interested in becoming a foster or have any questions, please respond via email. Thank you.

I'm in need of some help. I need someone who can help me coordinate a fundraiser. My son Kaden was born August 18th 2008 with a severe left sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia aka CDH. He died after fighting for his life on September 16th 2008. He was on ECMO ( heart and lung bypass ) for 21 days. He had in total 4 surgeries and was on 2 types of breathing machines. CDH is a birth defect that has no known cause and occurs in 1 out of every 2000 LIVE births in the US (it is recommend a lot to abort these babies) of the babies that are born 50% die. The 50% that survive will live a life full of complications. Every day 5 families find out they are having a baby with CDH and every day 2-3 babies are dying from it. CDH is when a diaphragm does not close properly in an un-born baby. This hole allows abdominal contents to enter the babies chest cavity. This causes the lungs and heart to be smashed/displaced and then they do not grow properly or even not at all. I would like to help raise money to donate to CDH Awareness. I am backed by a CDH non-profit organizations, Breath of Hope inc. It is little known but every year parents of CDH babies petition all of the states to recognize March 31st as CDH Awareness day. Even Mexico has joined in!!

I want to have a fundraiser in my son Kaden's memory so that he can be a part of finding the cause and fixing the problem to end CDH. The problem is that I have no idea how to throw a fundraiser. I know the basics but not enough to actually do a successful one and I have no clue where to even start!

If you or someone you know can be of help you can email me, Jamie, or call me at 440-731-0067
