<![CDATA[ NEEDr a lawyers' help on this case and will either pay for the advice or grant a percentage participation: Bought a tax certificate (on a residence) and paid up the then-due past ad valorem taxes. Then had to hold the certificate for a period of time until it matured and I could ask for a tax deed process to be invoked. While waiting for this period of time to pass, the house burned! Needless to say there was/is no insurance available. The city then demolished the burned-out shell of a home and has recently filed a lien for their demolition costs. I would have thought that my interest had priority over the city's as mine came first in time and is the result of the tax liability which (as I understand things) comes first before all? Do I have any recourse, or priority or what can be done to preserve my interest in this situation? If you are a lawyer (or know one) would you pass this on, please? ]]>
