The Kindezi School is a charter school that will start as a K-3 in fall of 2010. We will be located in SW Atlanta near other public schools that generally perform well-below the national average. We aim to become an exception to that pattern while serving the same demographic.

We are a new and unique model for public education in which teachers will have classes of only six regular students at a time. We are committed to a highly rigorous curriculum that teaches students knowledge and basic skills that are measured by the standardized tests AND skills like creativity and critical thinking that are not so easily tested via multiple choice. Learn more about us at http://www.kindezi.org/index.html

The professional benefits of teaching at Kindezi include:
1. Six students per class means more focus on teaching and less trouble with discipline, stronger relationships with students and families, and the fulfilling knowledge that each of your students is making great progress.
2. Teacher empowerment is not just a buzz word to us. Teachers are directly involved in the decisions that affect their work place. Teachers have true professional status at Kindezi.
3. Entrepreneurship. The Kindezi School is embarking on an adventure. The first year of a school is its most formative one and Kindezi's first teachers will have a great impact on its future. You can be a founder of something new.

The professional challenge of teaching at Kindezi:
1. With six students per class, there will be no excuses for slow student progress.

We expect this model to yield dramatic gains and we cannot do that without excellent teachers. If you can be an excellent teacher, we hope you will begin your application at:

First, and most importantly, we would like to mention how high the pay is. A hard worker can realistically earn anywhere from $2000-$4000 USD a month. This is a legitimate, hard job, but the pay is good, it's contract work (so there's no taxes withheld), and it's not commission based (or anything odd). The workload is extremely heavy, and the quality of work you are expected to produce is incredibly high. That said, this job will pay orders of magnitude better than anything comparable for legitimate, at-home work. Before applying, ask yourself: why should I deserve this position instead of the 10,000 other candidates? Then, tell us why you should get it.

Exceptional candidates will have a significant qualitative background and will relish the idea of making money at home doing interesting work and being exposed to PhD-level analytic research. Comfort with APA 6, is a must. We will *not* train APA editors. If you don't know APA 6 front and back, don't bother applying. This is a work-from-home position and our ideal applicant must have exceptional researching, writing, and APA editing skills, as well as be capable of handling an intense workload under pressure. This applicant must be a self-starter who has access to scholarly articles and is comfortable with conducting in-depth research, writing, and APA editing in short periods of time and with limited guidance. An excellent grasp of grammar, eloquent writing style, great communication skills, positive attitude, around-the-clock and IMMEDIATE availability (we mean this literally, as we expect daily status reports and are on G Talk constantly!), immaculate attention to detail, high tolerance for long hours and tedious work, and a diligent work ethic are all necessary to apply for this job.

This qualitative analyst position would entail primarily working on projects in our dissertation consulting, academic journal article assistance, and format/style editing divisions:

* Format/style edits (grammar, spelling, reference checks, etc.) to dissertations, journal articles, and books.
* Doing online library research and writing literature reviews for academic journal articles, dissertations, or internal research for projects that our principal researchers are working on;
* Fixing up grammatical issues, content consistency, flow, logical reasoning, etc for dissertations or academic journal articles of our clients
* Planning qualitative methodologies for research studies (doctoral dissertations, mostly

The costs and benefits of the positions are summarized below -->

Great Parts of the Job:

• You can make an astounding amount of money working from home, if you’re a self-starter and can manage and prioritize deadlines. If this worked out over the first couple of months (during which you’d be going through a lot of training in qualitative and research methodology), we would be almost immediately willing to send you as much work as you could handle. You could surely be making over $1,000 per week of work if you were capable of keeping a moderate/large workload WHILE MAINTAINING STELLAR QUALITY IN YOUR PROJECTS. We pay our outside contractors on a per-project basis, from $85-$250 per project, depending on length and difficulty.

• You can work in your pajamas if you wish…and you can make your own hours in a sense so long as EVERYTHING is done on time and to an extremely high standard.

Challenging Parts of the job:

• The workload can be tedious, and the revision process (getting the work just right, dealing with feedback can be lengthy if the original quality of your work isn’t adequate. As noted directly above: ***The standard/quality of the work must be very high, (diligence is key), and there are often several revisions we'd require after reviewing the work, etc. The assignments (and academic work/publishing in general) can be VERY tedious and require a VERY detail-oriented person****

If you have the qualifications we need, i.e. you are comfortable and precise with writing high-quality work in short periods of time, are outstanding at APA editing, take direction well, and have a GREAT attitude, you can email us at the link provided. Please include your CV (in the body of the email rather than as an attachment for our ease of review, if possible), writing experience, a writing sample, and *most important* one paragraph about why YOU should be given the opportunity, what makes YOU so worth hiring. In the subject line, please specify, “Qualitative Analyst Position.”

We'll respond back to good candidates within 48-72 hours with next steps and samples of the type of work we do and what would be required of you. We want to bring on new qualitative analysts to begin working immediately. Our trial process to bring on new contractors involves 1 paid trial project (only paid upon successful completion), to gear the quality of your work and your fit with our team.

PRESCHOOL TEACHER!!
Childcare center located in Griffin, GA. has an immediate opening for a part time experienced 2 year old teacher. There is a possibility of more full time hours as we get to know you and you become 'indispensable.' You must love babies and young children. There's lots of diaper changing, holding, hugging, playing and entertaining little ones. We are very clean and need someone who is very picky about the care and attention to cleanliness and loving of little kids. You have to have a strong back and be able to jump around while playing and teaching the children. Being able to carry a tune is helpful as children love to hear music and you need to be able to sit on the floor and get up easily. This is NOT an easy job unless you just love kids. This is NOT a babysitting job; you must be familiar with creating a lesson plan or at least be able to follow one. Your co-workers are very helpful, wonderful and sweet so you will love that part of the job. We are a Christian school but not church affiliated. We can sing little Bible songs and we tell our children Bible stories. We have sweet parents that really love their babies, so we do the very best job we can to take good care of these little ones. IF you are THIS kind of person and want to work, please email your resume to toddler_teacher@yahoo.com. After we have talked by email, we can set up an appt to meet as soon as possible. I look forward to talking to you soon. Bring your past employment history and I need to call at least three references. You will need to have a background check performed before you are eligible for employment. Within 90 days of employment, some basic classes have to be taken --this is a state requirement for all preschools. Hours will be Mon, Wed, and Friday from 2:30 to 6:30pm and Tues and Thurs from 12 noon to 6:60 pm

The New Teacher Project (TNTP) helps school districts and states fulfill the promise of public education by ensuring that all students—especially those from high-need communities—get excellent teachers. A national nonprofit organization founded by teachers, TNTP recognizes that although teachers matter more than any other school factor in student success, the nation’s education systems are not aligned with the goal of an effective teacher in every classroom. In response, TNTP develops customized programs and policy interventions that enable education leaders to diagnose their teacher quality challenges and find, develop and keep great teachers. Since its inception in 1997, TNTP has recruited or trained approximately 33,000 teachers—mainly through its highly selective Teaching Fellows™ programs—benefiting an estimated 4.8 million students. TNTP has also released a series of acclaimed studies of the policies and practices that affect the quality of the nation’s teacher workforce, most recently including The Widget Effect: Our National Failure to Acknowledge and Act on Differences in Teacher Effectiveness (2009). Today TNTP is active in more than 25 cities, including Baltimore, Chicago, Denver, New Orleans, New York, and Oakland, among others. For more information, please visit www.tntp.org.

We are currently seeking two Partners to shape and lead our policy and strategy to remove state and district level barriers to ensure our partner districts and states attract and retain effective teachers. These positions report to the Vice President of Policy and will work from our central office in Brooklyn, New York or from a home office anywhere in the U.S. The Partner position requires significant travel to the project sites throughout the year, which could be as much as 30-40% of the time during the busiest months of the year. These positions are available immediately.

Policy Team

TNTP has worked with urban school districts on their human capital challenges since its inception. From that experience, TNTP analyzed how a web of policy and process barriers prevented urban school districts from hiring the best new teacher applicants by delaying hiring until well into the summer and early fall. TNTP shared this research in its first national report titled, Missed Opportunities: How We Keep High-Quality Teachers Out of Urban Classrooms, which was published in 2003. TNTP published a second national report in 2005, Unintended Consequences: The Case for Reforming the Staffing Rules in Urban Teachers Union Contracts, which analyzed the impact of collectively-bargained teacher staffing rules on urban schools.

In November 2005, the New York City Department of Education (NYCDOE) used findings from TNTP’s research to help resolve a nearly two-year deadlock in contract negotiations with the city’s teachers union, resulting in a new contract that ushered in a “mutual consent” teacher placement system. TNTP examined the impact of these school staffing policy reforms on teachers and schools in its most recently published report, Mutual Benefits: New York City’s Shift to Mutual Consent in Teacher Hiring. Additionally, TNTP played an instrumental role in passage of state legislation in California requiring reform of teachers union collective bargaining agreements.

Most recently, TNTP has published a third national report, The Widget Effect: Our National Failure to Acknowledge and Act on Differences in Teacher Effectiveness. The Widget Effect describes how our public education system treats teachers as interchangeable parts, not individual professionals. Though it is widely accepted that a teacher’s effectiveness matters more than any other school factor in student success or failure, our school systems operate in a policy framework that assumes all teachers are the same. As a result, excellence goes unrecognized, development is neglected and poor performance goes unaddressed. Instructional effectiveness almost never factors into critical decisions such as which teachers are hired, developed or retained. This pervasive indifference to performance disrespects teachers and gambles with the lives of students. TNTP believes that until we make a teacher’s effectiveness matter, our schools will never be able to realize sustainable improvement or close the achievement gap that has long disadvantaged poor and minority students. (For the full reports, see www.tntp.org.) Our work has been acknowledged by U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan and has influenced the administration’s new, ground-breaking reform programs, the Race to the Top Fund and Investing in Innovation Fund.

Since the publication of Unintended Consequences, TNTP has undertaken a multi-tiered district, state and national initiative to improve access to highly effective teachers. As part of this effort, TNTP is working to ensure that states and districts support – rather than undermine – teacher effectiveness at the local level. Our experience and research has suggested to us that too often well intended district practice, certain types of collective bargaining provisions, and state laws can erect considerable barriers to effectively staffing schools with effective teachers. Removing these barriers depends upon providing a fact-based, non-ideological case to leaders and lawmakers.
