<![CDATA[While I realize that this topic isn't popular here, you have to realize it is a very real occurrence. I am talking about the possibility of bunchers coming to your area and stealing your pets, then re-selling them, even on CL for higher prices, or lower prices, to research facilities, to pit bull or other dog fighting rings. It DOES happen. Be responsible, have a fenced yard, make sure your pet is microchipped, spayed/neutered, has visible ID tags with contact numbers and monitor them while outside, just like you would your kids. Pets kept in yards, left outside, or allowed to wander are 10 times more likely to wind up missing, usually through no fault of their own. Don't take my word for it. READ what CL has to say about it, google the topic and make your own conclusions about how you can be a responsible pet parent. All that said, there does seem to be an unusual amount of pets missing in this area. THINK about it. This has NOT been a PETA or other animal rights announcement. I would post the info here, but it would just get flagged because no one wants to listen. Look it up for yourselves.]]>

<![CDATA[I agree that chipping is a good idea, but the "system" doesn't work if people that "find" animals don't take them to the vet or to animal control or, if in our case, our cat that is missing (was trapped/stolen by a neighbor) because he was semi-feral, he's not likely to go up to anyone to get help/food. We had him microchipped because we just knew that since this jerk was supposedly taking them to them to a shelter we would get our precious baby back, but sadly a month later we are still searching for him, along with the ones that were not microchipped. I can't tell you the number of people that have posted on here and under the pets section that "a stray showed up and we can't keep it" without checking to see if it belongs to someone. To those that find cats/dogs, if they are able to be petted or held, please, please, please take them to the vet to have them check and see if they are microchipped. I know I would be grateful if someone did that with my beloved XP. ]]>

<![CDATA[Friday afternoon, March 12, our grey and white bobtail cat with one ear tip crinkled, rode in the tack compartment of a horse trailer from our farm in Williamson to downtown Atlanta. He is in the area of Tift st/Buff st around or under the I-20 overpass. His name is BeeBop. He is mostly grey with white feet and high white on one of his back legs. He has a tiny white star on his face. Has Manx charachteristics: long body, lean, long rear legs making his rear end taller than his frontend and about a two inch nub tail that sticks up. <![CDATA[I am offering a $1000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individual(s) associated with the break in and theft of my business. The shop is Monico's Auto Repair, located at 4009 Lake Acworth Drive in Acworth, GA 30101. Items taken include: a large variety of Snap-On-Tools, and 2 - tool carts with wheels that hold shop tools. NOTE: Most of the tools are used in the auto mechanic industry and are clearly marked (engraved); "Tom I.". Also taken was a Clarke mig weilder... and in the process of stealing it the thieves dropped the side cover to it. The original paint color on the weilder is light blue... however, it might now be painted a different color. A simply scratch test might show any over-paint. Also taken were ten Interstate car batteries (various sizes) that were brand new and still wrapped in plastic. Also taken was a 1998 Black Dodge 4X4 (3 door). Also taken was the title to a 1991 white Ford Escort. And finally, the thieves also took a Protector Plate for a 1967 Camaro. This was a sentimental item that has no value and was worth nothing to anyone else. The Protector Plate was used for a RS/SS (Rally Sport - Super Sport) convertable. The Plate doccuments the ownership of the vehicle and shows that I was one of only two owners. It also documents the car as being a true original. The break-in occured on August 30, 2009.
