We seem to have some problems understanding what these things are. Knowledge is power and there's not a lot of knowledge being used in Atlanta. It's bad enough that so-called "producers" today (see below) think they know how to run the equipment and be engineers. The Sound sucks because of this. The trick here is not to let some beginner who has no clue what they are dong "master" your recording while they are trying to mix the recording. This is WRONG and makes your music sound like crap. Audio mixing is the process by which a multitude of recorded sounds are combined into one or more channels, most commonly two-channel stereo. In the process, the source signals' level, frequency content, dynamics and panoramic position are commonly being manipulated and effects such as reverb might be added. This practical, aesthetic or otherwise creative treatment is done in order to produce an elevated mix that is more appealing to listeners. To that end, I'm searching for a songwriting partner, with the goal of having our songs published and picked up by major artists - not looking to be a star myself. I write country and "swampy" rock stuff mostly. I'm good with lyrical and musical hooks but cannot usually complete the lyrics for a song and I can't sing.
