Poor things were still sitting and waiting in the same spot they were dumped off. I don't know anything about them other than they are both female. I guess they are medium sized dogs. I think the black one is older than the other one. On the car ride home she was very calm and just laid in my husband's lap. The other one (brown) is a bit more active, but very sweet. They are skittish, but seem to warm up quickly. They are very curious and playful. If you are interested please let me know. I can only keep them until Tuesday and after that I will have to turn them over to the county. I figured I'd try to give them a better chance than their owner did, but with animals of my own I can't keep them for long. Please let me know if you are interested in taking one or both of them. Very beautiful boxers as well, but I'm not able to keep them. I have another boxer and it has gotten to the point where I'm unable to give them all the attention they need due to my work schedule getting heavier. <![CDATA[The reason that it doesn't make the news when poodles attack is because, while a poodle might bite, they are not likely to kill a person. What you are talking about is a dog bite. I have never heard a news report saying that a pit bull bit someone. The news reports come when a pit bull attacks someone and leaves them in intensive care. The difference is that when a pit attacks, they often don't stop until they are killed, or whatever they are attacking is dead. They have fighting and killing bred into them. There was a news report around here recently about two dogs attacking a little girl. Niether of these dogs were pits, so it's unfair to say that the media only reports pit attacks. Pits are prone to attacking. I know many other breeds are as well, but SO MANY people have pits that it greatly increases the odds that they will attack. Dalmations are nippy, high strung dogs (as are many purebreds) and also not a breed I would ever own, but not as many people own dalmations, so there are fewer attacks. A dog bite is not an attack. That is where the difference lies.]]>

<![CDATA[As stated, we are actively looking in animal shelters. Also as stated, we're only willing to pay $50 for a dog that needs shots, needs to be fixed, and comes with absolutely nothing. If the owner hasn't felt that they needed to spend money on necessary things like a leash, crate, toys, and especially shots, then they apparently don't care about the dog very much anyway and we're sure not going to feel the need to pay more for a dog for whom we'll have to take care of all of that ourselves. You can adopt a fully-vetted and spayed/neutered dog for around $100 at most shelters that vet their dogs; at the Cobb County Animal Shelter you can adopt a dog for as little as $30, which includes a rabies vaccine, $10 off spay/neuter, and certificate for FREE first vet exam. We are not trying to guilt anyone out of a pet (I don't even know where you're getting that from); I'm simply tired of seeing people *selling* their dogs on here and treating them like some sort of investment. I wrote a description of our *ideal* dog--which means that a dog that fits even half of those characteristics is a pretty good match for consideration. We don't honestly expect to magically find the perfect dog on Craigslist, but posting an ad can't hurt. Worst case scenario, we get no replies and continue looking. A dog is a 15-year commitment, so we reserve the right to be picky about the pet we want to spend the next 10-15 years with. We do NOT want to end up rehoming it ourselves somewhere down the road. If you are a responsible pet owner then you should appreciate that sentiment. I look at the pets section every day and am one of the people who flags every single breeder ad they see. You'll notice that, unlike many breeders, I am well educated and capable of composing a grammatically correct sentence. If you have such suspicions then email me privately--don't tell others to flag my ad based on completely unfounded ideas.]]>

<![CDATA[My significant other and I have been talking about getting a dog for a while and finally feel that we are ready. We will have to pay a $250 nonrefundable pet deposit, not to mention buying food, toys, collar, leash, crate, bed, heartworm preventative, etc. (plus potentially shots and/or spaying/neutering) so we're looking to pay no more than $50 for a dog that needs all of the above or up to $200 for a dog that comes with most or all of the above. If you think that your dog is an investment and are looking to recoup the money you've put into him/her since you got the dog, we're not interested. Dogs are family, not stock, and anyone who truly cares about their pet will be far more interested in finding a good home than making money off of the animal. The *ideal* dog for us would be 8 lbs. or less as an adult, be 2 months to 3 years old, shed little to none, be healthy and have received regular vaccinations and heartworm preventative (or recently tested negative for heartworms), be crate trained, and already be housebroken (but we expect to have to work on that ourselves, considering the few housebroken dogs we've seen on Craigslist). We would love a yorkie or maybe dachshund mix. We don't care about registration, as he/she would be a companion only. A purebred yorkie would be fantastic, but everyone seems to want to sell them for top dollar. We are also looking in local shelters and on Petfinder but haven't been having much luck. We would prefer to adopt, but it may be hard and take a long time to find the dog we're looking for if we depend on luck alone. The dogs were laying by the side of Bay St in Fairburn early this afternoon. One was a black and white , intact male pit bull. very sweet and friendly, The other was a solid black long hair mix maybe some border collie also male couldn't tell if it was intact or not. That one was very afraid of people. I hated to call FCAC but it was that or them being hit by a car. I couldn't take them home because I am going into the hospital tomorrow for surgery. There was no collar on either dog. I am hoping that these dogs got out of a yard but since the pit was pretty skinny I would say he has probably been on his own for awhile. If someone dumped them I just hope they get the right kind of pay back. Me , I would dump Them ( the people) out in the middle of the woods with no food and no shelter and see how they liked it. <![CDATA[I have two springer spaniels, (sister & brother) available for a small re-homing fee. They are 1 yr old and super sweet. House-brocken, up to date with their shots and still "puppies", meaning they are still very playful. I have a brand new baby and don't seem to find the time to care for them as much as I had before the baby. I put a lot of time and money into them and am proud to say that they are very well behaved and adorable. The male is brown/white and female is black/white coat. I bought both at the same time from the same litter so I would like for both to be adopted by the same person. It is very importanat to me that they go to a good family, with plenty yard and time to walk and care for them. I'm not pressed to give them up as yet but will have to eventually as I will have to move soon and can't take them with me. My daughter (11) will be heartbroken if she knew that I'm trying to give them to a new family so it has to happen when she is gone for the summer (btw June and Aug). Grey domestic short hair named Bobcat. She is 6 years old, loves to curl up in ANYONE'S lap, likes having her chin/neck area scratched, prefers to be combed, enjoys a good thunder and lightning storm, likes heat and sleeping in the window. She fetches a tinfoil ball and likes to chase a light. Black domestic short hair named Fred. He is 5 years old. and LOVES attention. He doesn't sit still long, but wants to be near you. He will fetch a fuzzy ball. He likes having his face rubbed, and prefers a brush. Prefers cool weather and hides from thunder storms. Both cats were spayed/neutered, shots are current, and are extremely gentle with our kids. They have always been indoor cats but can easily be indoor/outdoor since neither cat has been de-clawed. Nails have been clipped regularly, and are fairly short. They get along well together and make good companions. They have some play toys/equipment that can go with them.
