Because of last week's inclement weather, the GISA High School Regional Literary and Music Competition has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 11, in Acworth near to I75 and Wade Green Road. Unfortunately, we need a few judges for several of the events. Without adequate judges, a number of events, or even the whole competition, will be canceled. The competition comprises a number of literary and music events: Spoken: Oral Interpretation (dramatic, humorous and duo); Extemporaneous Speaking (national and international) Written: Essay (personal, argumentative and rhetorical); Spelling Musical: Piano; Quartet; Boys Solo; Girls Solo; Trio Judge Requirements: Each judge should have at least a Master's degree (in English, Communications, Drama/Theater or Music) and preferably have taught at the college level, but there can be exceptions to these requirements depending upon background/experience. Pay is $40 per event, and a judge may do more than one event if there is an opening. Lunch is provided. Come help the young people!
