Mom got this suitcase in the mid-1950's to carry her stuff to and from the hospital for the birth of my older sister. She used it again when I was born. My sis used it in college and then passed on to me. I'm moving out of state and it is now time to pass this relic of history on to someone who grooves on the mid-century look.

I added an oval piece of plywood and an old table cloth to make this into the ultimate Bohemian Shabby Chic end table. When it is time to move, just take off the plywood and pack up the suitcase. Vintage table cloth is of travel postcards, of the 1950's. (Lamp, book and chair not included).

Suitcase is made of shaped plywood wrapped with woven-look textured plastic. Nice and sturdy and stable on end. Presently primer gray in color--ready for you to custom paint to match your decor. Suitcase design and trim suggest fun 2-color or 3-color motifs. Be creative!

21.25" x 14.5" x 7"

Biggest hole in plastic shown in photo below.

Brass fittings are all intact, attached, and work smoothly.

Light paint spatters and one small dent on suitcase front.

Interior stain is patchouli oil, spilled by my hippie sister (not me!!) in the 1970's. Adds to the mystique.

Has been in smoke-free environment for its whole life.

Local cash sale only. Looking to sell these all together or one at a time. Let me know what titles you're interested in and please make me an offer. I do know what each of these are worth and am considering selling them on EBay but thought I'd start here first. I have some that are from 1972 and some that are from 1971. My mother had a subscription to Life and received these in the mail at her home. She has had them all in boxes and stored all these years, then left them to me. So they've been pretty well taken care of and for being akmost 40 years old, I think they're in pretty good condition. Some have watermarks, some have small tears on the pages or covers and some have spots from them being so OLD. I can send pictures of specific issues if you'd like....and give details about any damage (if any) on any of the titles that you're intersted in. No problem in doing that.

Listed below are the year, titles & condition:

*** 1972 ***
Hughes Affair - Good
Vietnam Retreat - Good
Kareem Vs. "This shirt was made for this one- time event", or words to that effect.

Really?

I was a semi- regular at Joe's way back when, and I seem to remember buying that same shirt (w/o the hole) for around $5-8. In fact, One of the stores that sold shirts on 6th st. had that same type of shirt for sale.

One of a kind? Um, doubtful.

Thanks for playing, tho!
