I have the drum muffled with a piece of felt and it sounds EXCELLENT - great all around rock sound. The shell is 6.5 x 14 which gives it a nice tone with a powerful crack. I have also had this drum set up with NO muffling and it has a cool, industrial sound - very SlipKnot-eske. This is a great looking snare and would make an excellent addition to any drum kit. This drum has been outfitted with a Remo Coated Ambassador batter head and has a Remo Ambassador snare side head. The shell, hoops, lugs and throwoff are all in excellent condition. The only negative is that the head is not brand new; however, it does still have plenty of life left. This steel shell 5 x 14 inch drum has a black nickel plated finish, 10 lug design, Pearl Super Hoop II's and a SR-015 strainer. The coated Remo head is the perfect compliment for the rock/funk sound that this drum provides - also has a WICKED crack on a rim shot. Made of a heavy maple and has a beautiful blue sparkle finish. I am the second owner of these and the first owner only had them for a couple months. they are in great condition other than some minor scratches do to travel ware and tear. the dimensions are as follows: 22" x 20" kick 12" x 8" rack tom 16" x 14" floor tom Snare is a 14"x5.5" pearl export series. I recently put new heads on this and sounds great.
