hey all. I am a casual bassist looking to play some fun relaxed music with others who like to play music but also have a real life which prevents us from touring the country, or playing gigs every weekend. smply put, I am looking for a group or band who just likes to get together and jam, any kind of music is cool, rock, blues, etc. I am not looking for anything "serious" or "pro". Just a fun time away from the house making some music. I am 31, have all my own gear, and am an amateur player (been playing for about 4 years). if this sounds like a good time to you, e-mail me back. I have NO place to play right now, but would be willing to share the cost of a bandspace. thanks a lot.
Chris

Hello - I have an electric guitar and I dont know much about it. I know my parents bought it new and it was made in 1989 and that its a Fender Squire. I would love someone who has more experience to look at a few pictures that I have of it to let me know what its worth. I want to sell it and would like to know more about it so that I can make an educated agreement when I sell it - basically I dont want to sell it to later find out that I was hosed. If you have a few minutes to review a couple of pics, I would really appreciate it. I did some research online with the serial number but I wasnt able to get far.. Thanks!

LOOKING FOR YOU IF INTERESTED AND ARE STILL PLAYING MUSIC. COUNTRY BAND SOME ORIGINALS NEED 5TH PC. KEYS AND VOCALS. THANKS JIM C

Listen to me.............I'm intense! Fucking intense. I'm weird, my approach to reality is actually kind of crazy. I don't think that I'm normal by a long shot. I've listened to songs I've written compared to the songs my friends write. I think I might be kind of mentally crazy in comparison to my musical friends. My friend Jerry said he thought my tunes reminded him of "Syd Barrett," not that I agree with that but I've heard that a bit; your own personal senses will have the final say. Please, though, I beg of you to take a listen! I feel like this music took me years to write, I just want a good listen. I put more effort into my music than anyone I've ever met in person! Fucking seriously! I will be a great help to your band!! I can play most instruments very well I'd say. Here are my original songs:
myspace.com/ThePsychedelicSound

To give you an example of how bonkers I am for music. I was working at Guitar Center two months ago. One day I just stopped working there, and never showed up again. I vowed that day two months ago to never, ever, work again. Not because I'm a lazy type, far from it! I am too into music for anything else, even my own health.

The last two months have been musically very fucking annoying. I'm the only guy who wants to sing and play guitar all day, every day, any time of day, even at 3 am. Oh boy do I mean it, and I'm honestly a little mentally taxed because I'm living in a house where I'm told to quiet down, I mean it's not like I can never play, but I've heard people tell me to stop drumming, stop singing (I'm trying to listen to bob marley!) and it makes it so that even when they're not saying anything while i play, I can never know if I'm "bothering" them with my loudness, which totally, fucks my creative energy up. And honestly I do need to sing through a mic and plug my guitar in, I'd rather not use my acoustic and just sing at room volume. I'm not Joan Baez. I'm a man, I'm 23 goddamnit!

Don't get me wrong, my roommate is a beautiful human being, and he's helped me out through this life in so many ways. But, he's much quieter. In fact, none of my roommates, as artistic as they are, are not loud performing musicians like me. So I'm not in an environment where I can truly do anything. The 'band' I have is cool, but my drummer only comes over once a week and we can't score a bassist. That's hardly enough time for a good band. I'm just left with feelings of, "am I the only one who wants to do this"

But I still play music every moment I can. Biking to UCON to street perform, open mics, public performing at the Mohegan Sun walkway and making money that way, what the fuck ever I CAN DO TO PLAY MUSIC AND HAVE FUN! Having people around is just an impetus for me to play my fucking craziest.

So how do I need help from you? just give me a room and I'll start playing shows with you in your band in two weeks if you're genuine and serious about music. I don't want to be in some bum fuck town, just bit cities you know? Boston, New York. I have a place I can live if we have any LA craigslist readers here. It doesn't take me more than a second to learn anything, I was really blessed with a quick savant-like ear so it doesn't take me more than a few minutes to figure something out on at least 6 different instruments I play.

My house is cool, I get along GREAT with all 7 roommates (huge house) and our band room is hip, but there are limitations to living in a "non-band" house. I'm looking to move into a band house, of freaks and weirdos like me who I'm still curious to find. Who can be weird yet serious like me? I'm sure you're out there....and the chance that you're here in CT, where I live, is totally slim. This is why I'm posting on Boston Craigslist. The weirdos I need to meet will be in Boston, NY, LA (also willing to move to LA).

Yes, I'm willing to move anywhere anytime for music. I'm free and don't work. Thanks

We are a group of four serious musicians looking for a new lead guitarist and back up vocalist to join our band.

We are all from the Boston area and between the ages of 20-24.
We have all been playing music from a young age, and have all played in touring bands for the past several years. Our influences are many, but some other artists that reflect are playing and writing styles are: Motion City Soundtrack, The Wonder Years, Four Year Strong, The Starting Line, Blink 182, Alkaline Trio, Say Anything, and more… We like to play up-beat, pop-punk type rock that is really fun, but appealing to people our own age, not just 13 year olds.

Our current project is about to be launched, and this is some of what’s on our agenda:
-Studio time booked in April to record a brand new EP to be released in June. (depending on timing, you could definitely be a big part of the recording process. We have the material that will be on this first EP written already.)
-CD Release set for June that will follow by constant regional show dates about every weekend, with touring in between when appropriate. Along with all of the necessities to the successful launch of any album. We will be playing A LOT of shows.
-We have a lot going on that we’d be happy to talk about with someone who is interested and qualified.

We are all down to earth, regular dudes who like to have a good time.. but we are taking this really seriously so you should too.

We are looking for someone who:
Loves music, and is serious about this band.
Can play guitar and sing at a pro level.
Must live close enough to the Boston-North Shore area to get to practice and shows multiple times a week.
Should be close to our ages..(18-25ish)
Must have your own gear.
Must be willing and able to play shows and tour when we have to and make sacrifices for the band.
Must have at least a part time job that can help you support yourself, and help you contribute to band needs.
Be a good dude!!

If you would like to be a part of a serious and promising band, and wanna make some great new friends and have some great times in the process, please contact us and we will send you to our demos so you can check out some of the material, and give you more info on us and our project.

Please email: guitarsearch1@yahoo.com and we will send you some demos.

Thanks!

GUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLAND GUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLANDGUITARIST POP PUNK ROCK EXPERIENCED YOUNG POPULAR TOURING BOSTON MASSACHUSETTS NEW ENGLAND

Hey! I'm having trouble finding people to play music with. New to the area. Ive been playing drums for about 7 years. I have awesome gear. I'm really versatile, I would like to play something within the indie, pop, punk, post-punk genres, but I am willing to experiment. I'm even down for some good pop punk or melodic hardcore. I'm 21, male, laid back, and friendly. Some of my influences are The Weakerthans, Lucero, Kid Dynamite, Saves The Day, old Jimmy Eat World, American Football, The Promise Rings, Maritime, Jawbreaker....could go on all day. I'm also into a bit of jazz and swing like Buddy Rich. I like to experiment and mix genres. I could do some backing vox as well, but Im not that great of a singer. I can play with males or females, that doesn't bother me. I prefer those who are over 18, and who are good at what they do. It also doesn't hurt to be a good person, I don't like assholes or rockstars. Not asking for the next prodigy or anything. Looking to get something going ASAP. Im getting antsy not playing, and I HATE getting rusty...

Contact me guitarists, bassists, singer, etc if this sounds like something you could get into.

***I'm reposting this because apparently there's been an issue with my email not receiving messages from gmail accounts.
I'm using a different emaill address for this post.***

Hello,

I'm a multi-instrumentalist in his mid 20s who is looking to put together a new band in the near future.

The music I compose is intensely rhythmic and bass groove driven. I'm into poly-rhythmic percussion, explorative synth & organ lines, call & response vocal patterns and minimalist funk guitar. Needless to say, I am tremendously influenced by African dance music from the 60s and 70s.

I have some material recorded, which can be heard on my myspace. However, the tracks posted feel a bit contrived and are lacking on the percussion side. Also, not being a vocalist I rely heavily on a vocoder. I would like to tie some of my songs together with defined vocal elements.

The individuals I'm seeking should be experienced, musically proficient (but not overplayed), posses improvisational skills and have a willingness to collaborate in the writing of original material. Instrumentalists who are able to contribute backing vocals or additional percussion are highly desirable.

Initially, I’m looking for a few people to fill the following roles:

*Vocalist - Stylistically appropriate, with good range and can write lyrics.

*Drummer – Dynamic, steady and tight, with experience in polyrhythms and dance beats. Programing skills would be a plus.

*Guitarist - Someone who can play simple, stripped down funk licks and can create subtle atmospheric elements, depending on what the song calls for. Delay and Chorus effects are essential.

*Keyboard Player - Musically knowledgeable, with a good ear and can harness both organ and synth textures.

Some of my influences include:

TP Orchestre Poly-Rythmo

Talking Heads

Sun Ra

LCD Soundsystem

Fela Kuti

The Brothers Johnson

Konono N1

Silver Apples

!!!

Bruce Haack

Death From Above ' 79

Please go to myspace.com/coaxialrows to sample a few rough tracks I've been working on.

If you're interested in collaborating, please drop me an email detailing your past musical experience and include a link to some of your recorded material if available.

Thanks
