He charged $2,000 to install a plywood floor with no covering and to install 20 feet of insulation and skirting outside. I feel that he is overcharging me. I am employed by a newspaper which is "the official newspaper of Coppell", which means that all the city's advertisements are placed in it. So, all persons and entities which do business with Coppell read this newspaper. It has more than 6,000 subscribers, in addition to persons who purchase newspapers at various stores. Coppell has approximately 48,000 relatively affluent residents. I want to find a carpenter who is willing to trade repairs for advertising. There is a weekly feature titled "Business Services" where persons of various professions advertise their services. Persons who need a handyman probably would check there first. Or, you could have a freestanding advertisement elsewhere. You could receive an equivalent amount of advertising These are the prices which the carpenter offered to charge for parts and labor for various tasks. I want you to tell me if the prices are fair or if you would do them for a lower amount, if you were being paid cash. Four hours seems extremely excessive for that task. I question whether he needs 50 feet of wire to allow me to use an electric stove. My trailer is 52 feet long. It is a shorter distance between the kitchen and the breaker box, approximately 20 to 25 feet. Listings in the "Business Services" directory cost approximately $20 per week. Thus, you could feasibly expect to have you name in front of 48,000 affluent residents every week for many months. I have called around to different dealers and arranged some good prices on tankless units depending on what brand I choose to go with. If you can get a better deal through your supplier then I would be more than happy to buy the heater from you. -The unit will need to be an outdoor model that will be positioned on the backside of the house. -The job will require moving the existing gas and water piping about 10 feet from its current location. -There is plenty of room under the house to maneuver so that should not be an issue. -Current gas lines are sized up enough for the unit size I will need. Existing water lines are also new. Both just need to be rerouted. -I always provide good food for anyone who does work on my house :) I have gotten a few high estimates from some big plumbing outfits. They have stated that the job will require anywhere between a 3-6 hours for an individual to do. I say that so you guys will know the scope of the job.
