<![CDATA[ Hey everyone! The Hollow Empire is currently seeking a bass player/backup vocalist to replace our previous bassist. We’re a modern 4-piece rock band with a broad range of influences. We’re currently recording our debut album and we have 3 of the songs from it finished and posted on our Myspace (www.myspace.com/thehollowempire). We will begin scheduling auditions for the month of April to try and find to perfect fit for our band. The perfect person will be creative, fun-loving, have a great personality, and above all a very strong work ethic and desire to be successful. Below is a long list of requirements that anyone interested MUST meet. If there is even a single requirement you do not meet in this list please don’t waste our time or your own. It may seem a little extreme, but all of us currently in the band meet each and every one of these. You won’t find a more dedicated group of people to work and enjoy music with. We will be successful with our music and we want like-minded people to share it with. So here’s what it’ll take: * You must have gigging worthy gear. A 2x12 combo amp isn’t going to cut it. Preferably you will have multiple basses and a decent half stack/sub. * You must be experienced and familiar with singing and creating harmony backup vocals. You don’t have to be the greatest singer in the world, but you must have decent range and be able to effectively match pitch with unique timbre. You must be at least a baritone or tenor vocalist, NO bass vocalists. (If you aren’t sure, basically a medium to high voice not a very low one.) *You must be between the ages of 18 and 25. NO exceptions. *You must have a good sense of style and realize that image is a big part of a successful band. *You absolutely must be able to practice at home on your own time to recordings (sometimes very basic home versions). We can’t continue to work on the same song for a month straight because you didn’t practice at home. *No drugs or any other activity that would interfere with the band. *You must have the ability to prioritize your time and not make excuses about work, family, school, relationships, etc. getting in the way. I personally work a full time job, am a single father of two children, spend hours a day either songwriting, promoting, or doing web design for the band, and still find time to play a little Call of Duty! Lol Proper time management allows you plenty of time for all the important things in life. *You must have reliable transportation. *Must live within 30 miles of Irving, Tx. and be able to effectively meet for practice 1-2 times per week. We often have meetings or other events so we need to be able to all meet up without it being a huge hassle. Missed practices/rehearsals without calling is not tolerated. *Must have a home computer and internet. We spend a LOT of time promoting online (Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Purevolume, Last.FM, etc.) Online promotion is virtually free and the easiest way of reaching potential fans. We currently have over 10,000 fans on our Myspace (which grows daily) and we do our best to answer every message and comment we get. We also have digital distribution through Tunecore, so we have our debut single released already on iTunes, Amazon MP3, Limewire Store, etc. So the more friends we make, the more album sells we'll get! *Must have a positive attitude and be great at talking with people to promote the band. *We currently all pitch in $100-$200 a month for band related expenses such as merch, recording, graphics design etc. We need someone who is eager to invest in themselves and their music. Without investing time and money into the band it won’t go anywhere. *You must realize at all times that it’s called the music “business”. You have to treat your band as a business the same way as if you opened your own restaurant. You have to be business oriented and approach music in that fashion to be successful in the industry. *I realized it hasn’t been mentioned, but just in case, you MUST be a decent bass player. Again we’re not looking for the greatest bass player in the world, we’re looking for a great bass player with an even better attitude who knows how to be creative and to learn and grow, not continually make excuses. *You must be accustomed to practicing/recording with a metronome. *You must be comfortable pursuing the style of music that is posted on our Myspace. Please don’t consider joining if you’d prefer to be playing metal, screamo, jazz, etc. etc. Our style can most effectively be described as Modern Rock/Punk/Pop/Alternative and we want a bass player/backup vocalist that enjoys that style most. *You must have a stable life setting. We don’t want someone to join the band that could possibly be moving states away a few months down the road for family, business, etc. The band’s home base is the DFW metroplex and yours must be too. *You must have good communication skills. If you’re going to be late to a pratice/rehearsal we need to know asap. If we book a show and you’ve said you’re clear we can’t have you come back later saying: “Oh sorry, I have (insert random event here) to go to that day.” We all operate in a professional manor and expect you to as well. Pretty extreme huh? Lol Lastly, we want someone who has a great passion for music and life. Someone who knows how to always have fun, but knows exactly what is necessary to be successful and continually strives to achieve their dreams. Like I said before, you won’t find a more dedicated and hard-working group of people to enjoy making music with. So if you read through this list rolling your eyes and chuckling in shock, this is definitely not the band for you. I need a dependable classic / outlaw/ Texas country, seasoned drummer, for 5 or 6 small gigs a month, in the Fort Worth area. These are all fun gigs to play, at some very cool venues, but the pay is low (usually $30-$40 plus some comps). As they say, it is what it is. I have some very good subs lined up, but I have shows booked year round, so I need a dependable drummer for the long haul, that's not playing with anyone else. <![CDATA[I am a drummer looking to do studio work. I can play most styles of music. I would need about 1 week to adjust to your music, or a few rehearsals if you feel more comfortable. Either way, I will help you record for free. The only styles of music I'm not well rehearsed in is HEAVY metal (constant double bass; although I can do a some double bass if needed), complex jazz, and Latin/Samba. Some metal bands I can do, it's just the constant double bass that I can't execute (i.e. Lamb of God, Trivium, Children of Bodem, etc....) Other than those styles, I can pretty much play whatever you need. Once I hear your music, I can let you know right away if I'll be able to help you. I am a team player. If you want a part played a certain way, just tell me and that's what I'll do. I want to work for you so that you can get the best recording. But if you do want me to create something, I can do that also. I've been a part of many bands in the DFW area, played many live shows as well as recorded many studio sessions. I feel very comfortable in the studio. I'm 25 and have been playing drums for 16 years. Again, I will do studio sessions for FREE. <![CDATA[We're a local jazz combo in the Dallas area. Right now we are a saxophone player, guitarist, and drummer. We're planning on gigging as much as possible, as soon as possible. I am young, but have some decent connections as far as getting studio recordings and rehearsal spaces. I have been accepted into Berklee College of music as well as UNT, but I'm taking time off to play, so I want someone serious about playing as well as making some money. I want a bass player who feels comfortable with Jazz so we can get local restaurant gigs and things, but also my vision for the group is also to make a band that can record and tour and things like that. This project will consist of more modern groove oriented stuff.
