I look forward to helping you succeed in your educational goals. I am very good at explaining even complex material in a way that is easily understood by anyone. I can use everyday language and break things down into small steps. I am an honest, hard-working, talented tutor and I would like the opportunity to show you how quickly I can make a difference in your understanding and scores.

Most standardized tests are much more about how well you take tests, recognize patterns, and utilize shortcuts than how smart you are. I have helped students with every type of standardized test you can think of and I know what type of questions to expect and the quickest ways to get to the correct answer. This has taken years of experience and it greatly helps students' scores. I am equally strong in math, sciences, and language arts. I can help with all or select parts of these tests- whatever you want.

I specialize in:

**** MATH TUTORING
**** SAT/ACT/All Standardized Tests (ALL PARTS, NOT just MATH)
- I know tons of secrets to improving standardized test scores. I know shortcuts. I know what type of problems to expect and concentrate your time on. Many study books that you purchase concentrate on material that is barely included on the tests. Save time and money by taking advantage of my expertise on these tests.

My qualifications include:

- I have over 15 years of proven success in MATH TUTORING
- ALL AGES, ALL LEVELS, and ALL DISABILITIES
- I have over 10 years experience in STANDARDIZED TEST preparation (SAT, ACT, FCAT, GRE, GMAT, GED, ASVAB, CLEP, CLAST, TEAS,...)
- I am experienced in one-on-one tutoring as well as classroom teaching
- I am Certified by the CLRA
- I have earned 4 MASTERS DEGREES
- I can explain any material in easily understood terms
- I have many professional references
- I am Better qualified than others, but rates at or below them

Exceptional GMAT/GRE Teacher :

• I have a decade of formal teaching experience, including five years of math and science instruction at a Boston high school where I enjoyed exceptional success with my students. When you love to teach, you do it well. I then went on to earn my MBA, graduating with high honors. I was then awarded an assistantship as I worked on an MA in mathematical finance, during which time I became a CFA institute scholar.

• For the past five years, I have tutored students specifically in the math sections of GMAT and GRE and done so with stunning success. My students often remark that they’ve understood difficult math concepts for the first time and find themselves taking their tests with new found confidence.

• Though the math required on the GMAT and GRE may seem daunting, my systematic approach will allow you to progressively master the material. By tailoring that approach to your individual needs, we will make sure that issues that cause you problems become strengths rather than weaknesses, so that, come test day, you’ll be able to employ your knowledge and achieve your desired score.

• In addition to using the Official Guides, I have an original GMAT/GRE math curriculum of close to 2000 self-produced math problems. These problems are categorized by topics such as rates, unit conversions, work, and percents. During our lessons, we will use specific problems as case studies to transform your knowledge about and approach to these problems. Specific, extensive homework assignments will follow each lesson so that you solidify what you’ve learned. Difficulties encountered in the homework will then be addressed at the beginning of the next lesson. The whole process is designed to strengthen your weaknesses and polish your strengths until accurate performance becomes second nature.

• A variety of diagnostic tests and tools will be used to track your progress so we always know where you stand and can track your improvement, while further pinpointing your areas of need. In addition, during our time together, you can call or email me at any time. I am here to help you succeed. Everything we do together will be built upon what you need at that time and how you learn best. I think you will find this to be the best educational investment you have ever made.

Please contact me via email. My schedule fills up quickly.

In addition, although it is not my specialty, I can recommend an outstanding verbal tutor for the GMAT or the GRE.

I wish you all the best, and I hope that we will be able to work together!!!

Greetings Future Doctors!

I have designed a VR course that lasts just four hours - that's all it takes to learn my system. This course includes lots of free practice materials, my expert Writing Sample system, unlimited phone and e-mail support with me, and free resume and personal statement review for your applications. The standard price for this package is $760.

Don't hire a "cheap" tutor for $40 an hour... for many weeks. Most tutors want 50 hours with a student or more; that's at least $2,000! I just need four hours with you, and you will see a dramatic difference.

I scored a 15 on the MCAT Verbal Reasoning, and I have been helping students get great scores for over five years.
All of my students see huge increases; most get scores of 13, 14, or 15.

I'm still compiling the results from my students who took the January MCAT exam, but one student e-mail stuck out from the rest and I wanted to share it with you (below). This wasn't the highest-scoring student of mine, and this person did not have the biggest improvement, but the e-mail should be useful and inspirational.
Hey Jeff,
So I got a 38Q on the MCAT!!! I'm very happy with the score, and know that I have a great shot everywhere I applied. I'm especially happy that I got a 14 on Verbal! (and a 12 on the other 2 sections). Verbal was my biggest challenge, and I thank you for your help on that. Your verbal strategy really worked.
On the sciences, I don't know why it was lower than my practice tests. I guess that the curve was harder because the actual test was easier than the released AAMC tests, and I missed a few nomenclature/definition type of questions that I just forgot at the moment.
Anyway, just wanted to let you know and thank you so much for your help. I will take you up on the offer of reading my personal statement. I"ll be in touch soon.
Best,
[D. A.]

Hello, my name is Novell Allen. I am a private, fully independent and incorporated Voice and Piano instructor. I currently sing with the Florida Grand Opera and am offering both voice and piano lessons. First lesson Free! Immediate results guaranteed! I specialize in speedy and safe vocal development. I provide therapeutic techniques that will assist both in the healing and developemnt of the voice. If you feel that you have damaged your voice, or that you simply dont have the confidence that you like to perform well, call me. I can tell you that it is not the fear of singing well that makes us insecure, it is the lack of technique that creates insecurity. Because if you are confident in your technique, then you will be confident in your singing! Why, because you will be able to predict the quality of sound that will come from your voice everytime you sing. There is no such thing as an ugly voice. There is just incorrect use of it which results in an "ugly" sound. I Teach in all styles, all ages! $40.00/hr. 305 494-1463-Novell.

My name is Michael Warner, and I am looking for people who either need a voice teacher/coach, piano teacher, or who are taking Music Theory and Sightsinging classes who need a tutor to help them. I also accompany people for auditions and other similiar things. I am well qualified for all of these for these reasons:

-For people interested in voice lessons/coachings, I have been singing for many years. I was a vocal major at Dreyfoos School of the Arts, so I am classically trained. But I also have performed other styles, I have sung in many bands, ranging from southern rock, punk, and thrash metal.....basically alot of rock. So I can help people with their voices who also who are not looking to be classical singers.

-For people interested in piano lessons, I am an experienced player, who has been playing for almost a decade. I am classically trained, and I am a music major at FAU, and my instrument is piano (I had to tryout with this instrument to get in). I have experience playing gigs, which includes church services and accompanying people.

-For people looking for a theory tutor, I have been learning theory as long as I have been playing the piano and singing. At FAU, I was able to test out of Theory 1 and 2 completely, and I got A's in both 3 and 4. I also took regular theory classes in middle school and high school (both arts schools), and AP theory in high school, so I can help people of all ages because I know what is taught.

-For sight singing, I was in all-state reading choir three of 4 years in high school, which meant I was one of the top high school sight readers in the entire state of Florida. I have sung at many places, including the Lincoln Center in New York when I was in middle school. And like I did with theory at FAU, I tested out of Sight Singing 1 and 2, and am about to complete 3, than start 4. So I am a good sightreader and classically trained singer.

-For accompanying, I have played a variety of piano gigs, some for community service, and others for money. I used to have a regular church job, as well as more sporadic gigs, and I have played with students who needed a pianist for school auditions.

My rates are as follows:

Piano and Voice Lessons: $13 for half an hour, $25 for an hour. (Most piano teachers in particular charge way more than this, these rates are dirt cheap)

Theory or Sightsinging Tutoring: $10 for half an hour, $20 for an hour.

Accompanying: These rates will be discussed.

I can host, or I can come to a place of your choice, however, if the place is a distance of more than 5 miles from me, I will add an extra $5 charge to cover gas.

Perhaps you've seen this ad before, if so, I invite you to pick up the phone and call. If this is your first time, then, you are in luck! This is not just another Craigslist ad offering voice lessons. Why? Because unlike many other voice teachers who perhaps have only gone to school to study voice, I am a professional classically-trained singer and pianist who is also a working artist, so I know what it takes to audition, perform, and prepare repertoire as I do the same myself. Hello, my name is Novell Allen. I am a private, fully incorporated and independent voice and piano instructor. In addition, I currently sing with the Florida Grand Opera and come complete with references and a simple, efficient, and proven system of training that will cut years and I mean that literally, years off of your training. I can make such claims because it has taken me years to cultivate my technique and so I am able to relate to my student's vocal difficulties in a very real and personal way. I offer my hard-won knowledge as a short-cut to assist you in achieving your goals. After all, who wants to spend their singing career standing in someone's practice room? I am fully Incorporated and offer lessons at either my private studio, (shown below), at a rate of $40.00/hr. or, if you prefer a more formal setting, I am also an instructor at the Hess Conservatory of Music, (www.hessmusic.com) at a rate of $60.00/hr. In invite you to give me a call at (305) 494-1463. I teach in all styles, all ages! First lesson free! Group rates also available. Learn once, know forever!

Unfortunately, mass training is where the real money is, so it's a lot more prevalent. these "academy's" rake in with their mass training is a lot more than what all of their teacher will make and they feel that "certifying" their teachers with their method saves them from having to find experienced teachers. These "schools" want you to believe your training isn't really about you, it's about what they have to sell you, whether it's over-the-top expensive guitars, software or their "as-seen-on-TV" cute method based on cartoon characters and the expensive, but worthless, paraphernalia that they also want to throw in claiming that they are "making music fun.". IT'S ALL A LIE AND YOU SHOULD NOT RETREAT FROM DEMANDING BETTER.

This interactive skill is very rare because very few instructors are really as versatile as they claim be or able to adapt to their client's needs. It takes a lot more than than just 10 years of experience of teaching AUTHENTIC PRIVATE TRAINING to acquire that skill and most do not want to go through the trouble and they actually believe that graduating from their school or conservatory is really all they need to charge you top dollar.

Unfortunately, what most people end up with when they purchase private lessons is an assembly-line, mass-method presented and sold as if they are private.one-on-one. The worst ones now are even trying to pass off going over online TABs and guitar pro as if they’re something the client couldn’t do BETTER by themselves. THIS IS NOTHING CLOSE TO THE QUALITY OF AUTHENTIC LESSONS!!!!

Assembly-line "curriculum" and "methods" only benefit the "school" or teacher who will actually charge you as much or more than the higher quality, AUTHENTIC one-on-one training that these places pretend to provide. They're so mechanized that it really doesn't matter who is teaching you and you never know who is going to be teaching your next lesson but they pass it off as if that isn't ripping you off. THEY CHARGE MORE BECAUSE THEIR CLIENTS TRUST THEM TOO MUCH AND DO NOT REALLY SCRUTINIZE THE SCHOOLS CLAIMS. WHAT'S WORSE IS THAT THEY'RE REALLY JUST SELLING YOU A LOT OF FILLER YOU DO NOT NEED KNOWN AS "FEEL-GOOD TIME WASTERS" such as "ensembles" (sometimes hyped as Rock Bands), recitals, competitions, juries, field trips, faculty recitals or overblown "evaluations".

For the most part, these outdated, bureaucratic time wasters only benefit the schools as extremely expensive "photo-ops" and create a HUGE distraction from the students' goals even taking them full speed in the opposite direction from their goals.. In other words; they sell you HYPE OVER SUBSTANCE BECAUSE THAT'S ALL THEY HAVE TO OFFER.

I have nothing against inexperienced teachers but I do have a problem with school/stores that charge your a fortune for their teachers whether they have been teaching 30 seconds or 30 years and YOU SHOULD HAVE A BIGGER PROBLEM WITH THAT THAN I DO. They get away with it because their customers trust them too much and they make A LOT more money passing off cheap labor as experienced and the teachers are shooting themselves in the foot without even knowing it. Another advantage of inexperienced teachers provide the stores is that they’re easier to fool and manipulate. I have seen some stores who are more honest and client friendly who only charge $10 or $15 per hour and I GUARANTEE that their quality of training is every bit as good as the expensive local stores who seem to want to dig their hands into your pockets at every corner. AUTHENTIC TREAINING DOESN'T HAVE TO BE EXPENSIVE BUT I WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO TELL YOU THAT IF I WORKED THAT THESE "SUPERCUTS" MacMusic Schools."

THE MAIN REASON YOU PAY $40 dollars per hour (or more) for an instructor isn't to be walked through a self explanatory method or to throw everything at you but the kitchen sink and STILL leave it to you to sort out what's really relevant to You don't pay that because your teacher is in a band or went to a conservatory of has a degree or because they're more expensive.YOU You pay that money to a teacher who had the experience to diagnose and focus your you efforts AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE YOU WANT TO AVOID WASTING TIME ON MINDLESS METHODS AND GIMMICKS YOU CAN PURCHASE ON YOUR OWN.

QUALITY MUSIC LESSONS ARE NEVER ASSEMBLY LINE "METHODS" or "SYSTEMS" QUALITY LESSONS COME FROM MAKING GREAT DECISIONS! DECISIONS THAT WOULD HAVE DIFFERENT ANSWERS FOR DIFFERENT PEOPLE. A METHOD or SYSTEM CANNOT PROVIDE THAT. AS A RESULT YOU RISK HAVE SOME OR EVEN ALL OF YOUR TIME AND MONEY INVESTED IN PRACTICING TAKING YOU IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. THIS IS WHERE MOST PEOPLE FAIL TO LEARN WHETHER THEY ARE SELF TAUGHT OR IF THEY HAVE HAD A LOT OF POOR TRAINING.

I have been teaching this amazing instrument for 33 years and it is STILL fun. I always laugh when I see teachers claim that they will "make it fun" because guitar has ALWAYS been a fun instrument to play and no teacher can take credit for that. Unfortunately, many teachers have actually forgotten that and it becomes contagious and it causes them to make mistakes and miss opportunities to help you. Usually when teachers say they make it fun, they mean that they make it cute and that is not fun. Fun is hearing a great guitar or bass part (recorded or original) and then feeling those notes coming from your own fingers.

BOTTOM LINE: I can provide you with your most direct path to reach YOUR goals, with or without the technical aspects that vary according to people's needs and ambition. I am uniquely qualified to provide you with the highest quality of training. Training that can save you years of unnecessary effort and time for the same or better price than the local storefront school where most of your dollars only go to store rent instead of REAL experience. That's why I have my clients provide their own evaluations in their own words BEFORE we even schedule a lesson so that we can get down to business immediately. That's actually their first free assignment WITHOUT them having to be "locked-in" with me and I tell them to do this whether they sign up with me or not.

I take teaching very seriously not only as a teacher but also as someone who studied with numerous private teachers, many of whom were like heroes to me. They weren’t necessarily the more famous teachers either. When I was young, not only did I wash dishes, bus tables and dig ditches to pay for the lessons, I often drove for an hour each way into LA to study with them as well. I did this prior, during and following my years as a music major and G.I.T. As a result, I am very thankful for students who show me the same respect with their dedication. I really hate to see people squander their time and effort needlessly while paying top dollar for lessons that should prevent this waste.

ABOUT THE STORE/SCHOOL (a.k.a. “LEARNING CENTER" or "ACADEMY")

While, over the years, I have been very fortunate to work for ethical, serious stores in southern California, I still advise you not to over-rate the credibility of a teacher just because they are in a store, “school." or "academy." There are many scams and greedy store/schools nationwide, who view teaching as nothing more than “real estate.”; They can either be a large chain store or an individual setting up a “school."; or “learning center." They cannot find EXPERIENCED teachers who will agree to their high rent (sometimes as much as half the teacher fee) so they fill up their “studios"; using inexperienced teachers with the store's foot traffic. When the students give up or burn out, they just keep replacing them with more foot traffic

.It's they stores' greed that has prevented you from readily finding quality training and as long as there are pleanty of customers who do not bother to question and scrutinize their potential TEACHER, their lessons will be nothing more than another bad real estate deal where only the store owner benefits and profits. As long as you reward these store/schools by paying top dollar for lessons and they pay bottom dollar for the inexperienced teacher, they have no incentive to value quality and experience.

Each full-time instructor pays more rent for that tiny studio/closet than a 3 bedroom house. I have never met someone who says that they do not care about the training they are receiving, they just want to make sure the store owner makes a lot of money for rent on the studio but everyone who is just signed up to the local storefront out of laziness and just let's a store assign you someone might as well be saying exactly those words and that's why they know they have to lock you in with extra fees up front to get as much out of you as possible before you catch on..

However, I should point out that teaching from home or driving to your house is not a guarantee of quality nor is a high prince. Most teachers quit working at stores long before they are really experienced and they they just teach at home or deliver lessons to avoid paying the excessive studio rent. You will NEVER find a good teacher who drives to your home. Inexperienced teachers often charge as much and more than experienced, dedicated teachers.

Communicate with your TEACHER before you sign up with them. Never let someone assign you a teacher or fall for the "free trial lesson" because schools just care about filling slots and try to lock you in with "sign-up fees" or "registration fees" hype and gimmicks that will end up killing your budget with poor results. People who contact me after reading my ridiculously long posts because they recognize how they were manipulated with the tricks that I am warning you about and they wish that someone had warned them.

I appreciate it when they give me a chance after being so burned in the past and I love it that they appreciate what I provide now that they have those previous bad experiences to compare to but I would still prefer that people not go through those experiences in the first place. I would much rather talk to someone who has no intention of signing up with me about my favorite subject than have them walk into a store and sign up for something with high hopes and be disappointed. What dedicated teacher wouldn't feel that way. That's why you shouldn't trust a school that won't allow you to talk to the teachers except if you walk into the store "between lessons."

I should point out that there are teachers and stores who are serious about the quality of their teaching and repair staff. They are usually smaller stores that sell high quality instruments for all levels of customers. Their owners and staff might even be the teachers themselves. These stores do not try to prevent teachers and students exchanging contact information and they don’t gouge you for basic repairs. These stores want to stimulate sales to repeat customers with an experienced staff of teachers and repairmen while “assembly line”; chains are focused on sales to the one-time customer.

One store in particular that I like in south Florida is Glades Quality Guitars on Hollywood Blvd. My idea of a great day is to stop by and drive them crazy checking out their amazing guitars.

ABOUT TEACHERS

Here are some unfortunate facts: Teaching is a completely different skill than just playing and only a tiny percentage of “advanced”; great players are capable of teaching and only a tiny percentage of them even want to. It gets even worse; store/schools mostly resort to hyping teachers from that high percentage of “advanced”; players who THINK they can teach. To them teaching is a great gig to have until they become rock stars and when they quit to go on the road or to pursue their rock star dream, the stores think they can just plug in another renter to fill the studio. If you start over with another inexperienced teacher who has never taught, your price will NOT go down.

Most private teachers fall into two categories: “street player”; teachers and “pedagogy”; teachers and there are two types of street players; self-taught and educated. Surprisingly, they all tend to make the fundamental mistake of assuming that learning is about the teacher when it is ALWAYS about the student. As a result they’re often looking in the wrong place for your solutions. The following is a summary of what to expect with each type of teacher if they have been teaching FULL-TIME less than 10 years and much longer if only part time.

SELF TAUGHT STREET PLAYERS might play in a band and even have some great touring and professional playing credits. They operate under the “What works for me will work for you”; assumption which is like saying if you graduate from the 5th grade you can teach 5th grade. Unfortunately, they become a wealth of bad habits by teaching their “shortcuts”; and “secrets.”; They tell you to “forget about reading music, just play by ear”; because that’s the only thing they understand. You risk paying to learn their limitations.

EDUCATED STREET PLAYERS might have training from private teachers, college and maybe even have majored in music or gone to the REAL Guitar Institute of Technology in California. It usually takes them many years of experience to stop assuming everyone wants to be a virtuoso, bogging everyone down with everything but the kitchen sink. They tend to struggle with diagnosis and over prescribe technical solutions to your training instead of musical solutions that are likely much more effective. You risk burning out needlessly with a lot of unnecessary drills.

PEDAGOGY TEACHERS might have a degree in music education and might claim to be “certified.”; Unfortunately, “legit”; pedagogy programs are extremely bureaucratic, outdated and still look at guitar and bass as non-instruments. These programs tend to rely on presumptuous, slow, mass training methods targeting class rooms because that’s where the money is. They do NOT factor in the most important ingredient for your success; YOU. If you are like that tortoise from the Comcast commercial and you want someone to slow you down because you hate learning fast, find one of these teachers. Otherwise you would be better off teaching yourself out of a book. You risk paying for someone to slow down your progress.

YOU CANNOT BUY EXPERIENCE OR CREDENTIALS: There is no such thing as any true “certification”; of guitar teachers or private teachers for that matter, but there are various pedagogy unions where you just pay your dues and you are a “certified”; member and they only refer people from their paid memberships. Their “certificates”; are a false credential, a red flag and a horrible substitute for experience. Other teachers, myself included who have graduated from the Musicians Institute (formerly The Guitar Institute of Technology G.I.T) receive a Certification but I do not consider that as a true certification the same way "music schools" and other teachers advertise it.

What's even worse is that here in south Florida, I am seeing some very old tactics of "schools who make big promises that have cruiculum that is so mechanized that they only hire "trained monkeys" to teach there and then they sell them a "certification" of that schools "curriculum" because that what they're really trying to sell you. In other words, their "certification" is nothing more than an agreement NOT TO PROVIDE YOU THE MAIN BENEFIT THAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR; A TEACHER THAT KNOWS YOU AND HELPS YOU TO STREAMLINE YOUR EFFORTS ACCORDING TO YOUR GOALS AND THEY CHARGE AS MUCH OR MORE THAN REAL TEACHERS!!!! YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE PAYING $40 PER HOUR FOR A TRAINED MONKEY TO WALK YOU THROUGH A CURRICULUM!!!!

A private teacher has to know MANY ways of doing things because that “home run”; lesson for one student is a “strikeout”; for many others. Only an EXPERIENCED teacher has a plan B, plan C etc. for every subject just in case plan A doesn’t work. Only a VERY EXPERIENCED teacher knows when to go to straight to plan C because they can tell that plans A or B will not be as effective for you.

A teacher who’s really just a player who teaches, only has to know one way of doing things; their own way and if that way doesn’t work for you, you WILL waste your time and money.

Creativity and artistry will always be about decisions. The decisions can be; making goals, whether to pick up the guitar instead of the remote, planning a “workout,”; or writing your own music and the decisions never stop. Do not surrender these decisions to habits or you will miss many opportunities. Do not surrender these decisions to a teacher either especially if they rely on their dogmatic assumptions and methods instead of taking the time to diagnose your “point A”; and “point B.”;

If you have ever experienced rapid progress with less effort than you expected it is most likely because you have made very good decisions and if you have ever had times that you seem to practice long hours with no results than you are probably making bad decisions. You can make great decisions even if you are self taught and likewise, you can make really bad decisions with a teacher. Those are the fortunate/unfortunate facts.

One of the wonderful things about both the guitar and bass is that they are versatile instruments that allow a large variety of approaches that CAN be successful but this versatility can also have a drawback; there is a very high risk of wasting time on a program that is great for someone else not you. It is a myth to assume what worked for your teacher will work for you.

If you want to shop around, GREAT IDEA! YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO TRUST YOUR TEACHER!!!!!!!

Do it by phone email is even better BUT NOT IN PERSON WITHOUT TALKING TO THE TEACHER DIRECTLY. Make a list of questions that you want answered along with your goals. That's why email might be better so you can do it all at once. If they have some lazy rule that you can ONLY call them with questions; NEXT!

Block your caller I.D. or you might as well say you want a telemarketer calling you at diner time to sell you music lessons from then on. If they block private caller then they are basically saving you a lot of time. IF they continue to contact you by email, and you don't want to deal with them anymore, you can always block them as spam.

If they refuse to let you talk to a teacher unless you come into the store, NEXT CALL.

If they say they cannot let you disturb their lessons but you can come in and meet them in between lessons, they're contradicting themselves or more precisely, lying to you.

Professional teachers will ALWAYS welcome you calling them in person and willingly give out their contact information so a store refusing to provide that information is going to be too intrusive into your training and attempt to "own" you.NEXT!

If they want to tell you what equipment they have or software they have but they do not ask you about you, NEXT!

If they let you talk about your goals, do they seem to have real solutions or generic assignments that might include your own

If the first think they list as selling points are their degree, comfortable location or how friendly they are, GIVE ME A BREAK How can someone not be friendly being paid to talk about their favorite subject? Your home is comfortable and 99% of the people who graduated from any degree of college or conservatory is NOT capable of teaching privately.

If they are so mechanized that they will assign you a substitute if your teacher can't make it, then you're not taking private lessons, you are paying a fortune to walk you through a self-explanatory method or software and you should NEVER pay any more than $10 per hour for that type of training.

DO NOT walk into your nearest "school"/store and hand them your banking information for automatic drafts or let them talk you into coming in to receive the answers your need.

IN SUMMARY

DO NOT BE LAZY!

SCRUTINIZE YOUR TRAINING!

DON'T RUSH INTO IT BECAUSE YOU ARE EXCITED AND THEY SAY, "OPENINGS ARE FILLING UP FAST."

DO NOT LET A STORE OR TEACHER TAKE AWAY THOSE CRUCIAL DECISIONS JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T TRUST YOUR OWN JUDGMENT OR YOU MIGHT AS WELL BE SAYING THAT YOU JUST WANT TO WASTE A LOT OF TIME AND MONEY PAYING FOR STUDIO RENT INSTEAD OF HAVING A SKILLED, EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTOR WHO REALLY IS ON YOUR SIDE.

Private lessons SHOULD be the best way to learn. They SHOULD be a LOT BETTER than any method or software but your teacher has to know how to teach privately and that requires EXPERIENCE. A Degree, nice studio, great software, great personality is NOT ENOUGH. Quality private lessons require DECISIONS the kind of decisions most teachers do not like to or know how to make. Quality private lessons are not the same as "private" classes that are so mechanized that you might as well be in a room with dozens of other people. However, when you walk into most "school"/stores you will find that what they sell as private lessons are really just music classes FOR THE SAME PRICE OR MORE. Just because you are the only one in that "private" lesson doesn't mean you are really receiving.

My approach is not an assembly-line, time-consuming method or "curriculum" aimed at mass training. No hype, gimmicks or typical false promises claiming to provide you with "secrets" that everyone knows that will make you learn "faster and easier" I am very knowledgeable of ALL methods and similar products and I can make sure you achieve anything they provide WITHOUT THE USUAL WASTE THAT GETS MIXED IN. I can also help you clarify the necessity or lack of it of each subject. The main reason you would hire someone like me is trim everything down to what is clearly relevant to YOU. You would hire me to AVOID THE PROBLEMS CAUSED BY MASS MARKETED METHODS AND CURRICULUM. YOU DO NOT NEED TO HIRE SOMEONE TO WALK YOU THROUGH A SELF-EXPLANATORY METHOD OR SOME GIMMICKY SOFTWARE. YOU HIRE A TEACHER FOR BETTER RESULTS THAN YOU CAN GET JUST FROM ULTIMATE GUITAR OR GUITAR PRO.

Hobbyists--I'll help you sort through the sea of information available today and make sure you are focusing on skills specific to your goals. You do not just want to work on things "just in case" you might need them. Example: reading music has benefited me enough to justify the effort but that doesn't mean that you need to read music too. It's a great tool but so is a forklift; if you need it, it is great but if you do NOT need it, then it's a major waste.

Beginners--The common mistake that both teachers and clients make is to assume that beginner level is about making things "easier" by watering things down to something that you will never even use when you're done. In other words, learn things INCORRECTLY and then deprogram later. The beginner stage is about making things clearer and learning fundamentals while avoiding typical bad habits that affect you from then on. I'll make sure you're acquiring fundamental habits which will allow you to avoid the usual obstacles that people create for themselves because they do not know what's ahead for them. This is why you do not want to try to cut corners with just a "beginner" guitar teacher who doesn't feel advanced enough to teach beyond that level. They haven't gone far enough themselves to help you anticipate obstacles ahead so their decision making will be lacking.

When it comes to teaching this amazing instrument, you will find that I do not take your goals lightly. That's how I got hooked on teaching, by bringing people closer to their goals and sharing how much fun it is to feel great sounds coming out their instruments. The majority of my friendships for these past decades have been built from spending time each week connecting about my favorite subject and that's likely why I have such a desire for people that I care about to experience the victory they experience through these amazing instruments.
No registration fee scams. No cheap software scams so that you can "jam with your teacher." (as if that has ever been anyone's goal)You will NEVER find someone with my experience, for my price in an over-hyped music "school"/store. They only hire "cheap labor" fresh out of school or still in school and charge the same prices I charge or more and you will learn a lot of bad habits that will cost you a lot of time. That's just a fact. It's ridiculous to settle for low quality just because the store is close to home or a teacher comes to your home when you can have so much more from a true skilled private instructor. Take just one month or one 2 hour lesson, and discover how much you can learn.

HOLA,

I've been a languages tutor since the age of 15, and have continued to do so parallel to my professional career. I love to be a teacher and my students love my classes, so it's a win/win. I'm a native Spanish speaker, raised in South America, who attended a German high school in her home country and a prestigious American University in the US. I've been multilingual since I was a child and have continued to use my language skills in marketing, translations and tutoring.

I've taught children and adults, all levels, one-on-one and small groups and are eager to take new students in the Miami-Dade area.

You may check out my resume @ http://miamilanguages.wordpress.com/

I am a college instructor who has developed the best method to learn to speak another language. Like children learn to speak their native language: first looking, after listening, then saying and last writing, you will learn in the same way, growing up in this new language. You will not loose focus with translation (you don't need it).
With my method you learn to think and to speak using the new language; this is the key for a long lasting acquisition. You will learn in an easy, effective and fast way. Stop wasting your money and time in other ineffective ways. I offer individual and group classes at low cost price for what you get. This is a worthy method. You will also receive homework via email to reinforce what was learned in class.

Buying a firearm is only the first step to keeping you safe. A pistol is of little use without the proper training. As law abiding citizens, we are not normally trained to deal with criminals, hardened thugs who know all to well how to put us in a compromising position. They unfortunately have that advantage over us.

The only way to close that gap, is to work as hard as you can to train and prepare yourself should an encounter occur. That is where we can help. As an NRA Certified Firearms Instructor, I specialize in preparing ordinary citizens to safely and effectively use their firearms.

GET YOUR CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMIT!

If you are going to carry a concealed firearm in Florida, you must have a concealed weapons permit. It is the law. But it is much more than that. Getting your concealed weapons permit without knowing the laws and best practices can get you in deep trouble.

That is where we come in. Our First Steps Pistol class is the perfect course to take for this purpose. In this course, you will learn:

* How to operate your firearm safely.
* The different parts of your firearm and how they operate.
* How and where to store your firearm.
* The different types of ammunition available.
* Two different shooting positions at the range.

This course meets the requirements for the concealed weapons permit in Florida, but best of all, you will walk out of this class with the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to own and operate your firearm safely and effectively.

Let's be honest. There are places you can go where they herd a bunch of people into a big room, talk to you for a few minutes, let you shoot one or two rounds, and give you a certificate. I will NEVER do that. As a matter of fact, I refuse to give anyone a certificate unless I am confident they are capable of carrying a firearm safely and effectively. Call today, and get started protecting yourself and your family.

COURSE COST is $100, and includes everything you need to complete the course. We will provide the firearm, ammo, ear and eye protection and range fees are included. We will also provide you with the state application for your CCW and give you instructions on how to get your license as quickly as possible.

If you prefer to use your own firearm, you will be responsible for providing your own ammo if it is different than what we provide. Please ask us about this.

33 YEARS EXPERIENCE TEACHING PRIVATELY TO SEVERAL THOUSAND INDIVIDUALS. 20 of those years full time, six days a week (over 90 individuals a week). Each student had their OWN program based on their OWN GOALS not mine. That's what private training is SUPPOSED TO BE not just being walked through a slow bureaucratic "curriculum" especially for an instrument like guitar where you can have so many directions of styles and levels. To me it is absurd to think that the fundamentals of a singer/songwriter who mainly wants to learn to either accompany their own songs of singing should have the same program as a jazz guitar fan who's love for the guitar was discovered through listening to Pat Metheny or someone who wants to learn classical guitar pieces by John Dowland. These examples I just listed are just a small glimpse of possible scenarios that I HAVE EXPERIENCED FIRST HAND and that's why I list EXPERIENCE far above everything else in my following resume.

While I am very proud of my resume, the fact is that no matter how impressive a resume someone might have, it is a reflection of how the teacher has taken care of THEIR OWN GOALS it doesn't tell you if they know how to address YOUR GOALS and that's what you pay for. Now that I have begun advertising the value of experience and the necessity of adapting to my clients, other teachers have begun to claim that they are experienced and can do the same thing but these are skills that you do not suddenly reach overnight no matter how good their intentions and whatever school they graduated from. That's just a fact that every teacher and student has to accept and ignoring that fact is not a good thing for either students or teachers.

IF YOU WANT TO LEARN FASTER, LEARN IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. MAKE sure information is RELEVANT and ACCURATE and that you know how to PRACTICE SKILLFULLY.

I have been teaching these amazing instruments for 33 years and it is STILL fun to play and teach. I charge less than what people charge at local stores who have less than 10 years experience because I want more people to be able to afford to experience THEIR OWN musical goals being reached which is a skill only a few experienced teachers even understand.

I use a very simple concept that CANNOT be found in any method or "curriculum" and is very difficult even for many experienced teachers to employ : IT ISN'T ABOUT TEACHING, IT IS ABOUT LEARNING. I do not make that usual mistaken assumption that you are hiring me for my knowledge; you are hiring me to use my knowledge to provide you with RELEVANT and ACCURATE TRAINING that is based on YOUR POINT A and YOUR POINT B. The keyword is "relevant" because this is where most teachers fail because they are either too reliant on following a "method" or "system" or they are too used to basing their definition of relevant on what's relevant to THEIR own goals not someone else's.

In spite of the bold promises you find in advertising, there is no such thing as a "fast & easy" tricks "magic method", "accelerated" curriculum or "instant guitar" CD ROM that can provide you with the same quality of training and opportunities as an experience private instructor who knows your goals, strengths, blind spots and your practice habits. All any of those products can do is throw everything at you and leave it to you to eventually figure out what really applies to you and what doesn't AFTER you have wasted a lot of time.

I always laugh when I see teachers claim that they will "make it fun" because guitar has ALWAYS been a fun instrument to play and no teacher can take credit for that. Unfortunately, many teachers have actually forgotten how fun it really is and their attitude causes them to make mistakes and miss opportunities to help you. Usually when teachers say they make it fun, they mean that they make it cute but cute is not fun. Fun is hearing a great guitar or bass part (recorded or original) understanding what you are hearing and then feeling those notes coming from your own fingers. but accomplishing those goals require a lot of decisions to be made that are beyond ANY assembly-line, magic method or system and inexperienced teachers do not know how to assist you with those time saving (or wasting) decisions.

I take teaching very seriously not only as a teacher but also as someone who studied with numerous private teachers, many of whom were like heroes to me. They weren't necessarily the more famous teachers either.

I have my students to thank for all of these years that I have continued to adapt and improve my own knowledge and style in a way that I am sure I would not have done for myself. As a result you will hire not only a musician skilled technically but on musical level in which I am just as fluent with new artists like Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mudvayne, Nickelback, Green Day, 311, Rascal Flatts, Avenge Sevenfold, 3 Days Grace, Steven Curtis Chapman etc., as I am with the Beatles, Hendrix, Clapton, Led Zeppellin, Yes, Jethro Tull, Cat Stevens, Kansas, James Taylor, etc, while still keeping the fire with the technical wizardry of Steve Morse, Dream Theater, Eric Johnson, Tommy Emmanuel, Jeff Beck, Jaco Pastorious, Stanley Clark, Al DiMeola, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani etc.. As a result, I also have them to thank for why I was ready to accept assignments to write out their sheet music in standard notation and tablature for all music publishers which, in turn has provided me with insights into each of these artists that no other teacher can provide.

ALL styles and ALL levels BEGINNER * MUSIC MAJOR * HOBBYIST to PROFESSIONAL Technical and musical training combined to ADDRESS YOUR NEEDS. THIS IS NOT AN ASSEMBLY LINE!

ABOUT THE STORE/SCHOOL or "LEARNING CENTER"

While, over the years, I have been very fortunate to work for ethical, serious stores in southern California, I still advise you not to over-rate the credibility of a teacher just because they are in a store or “school.” There are many scams and greedy store/schools nationwide, who view teaching as nothing more than "real estate." They can either be a large chain store or an individual setting up a "school" or "œlearning center." They cannot find EXPERIENCED teachers who will agree to their high rent (sometimes as much as half the teacher's fee) so they fill up their "studios" using inexperienced teachers with the store's foot traffic by locking in customers before they have the slightest idea what is happening. When the students give up or burn out, they just keep replacing them with more foot traffic.

As long as you reward these store/schools by paying top dollar for lessons and they pay bottom dollar for the inexperienced teacher, they have no incentive to value quality and experience. This is how your lessons turn into more of a bad real estate transaction instead of an investment toward your own goals. Each full-time instructor pays more rent for that tiny studio/closet than a 3 bedroom house.

Never let someone assign you a teacher or fall for the "free trial lesson" because schools just care about filling slots and try to lock you in with "sign-up fees" or "registration fees."

These stores want to stimulate sales to repeat customers with an experienced staff of teachers and repairmen while “assembly line” chains are focused on sales to the one-time customer.

One store in particular that I like in south Florida is Glades Quality Guitars on Hollywood Blvd. My idea of a great day is to stop by and drive them crazy checking out their amazing guitars.

ABOUT TEACHERS

Here are some unfortunate facts: Teaching is a completely different skill than just playing and only a tiny percentage of "advanced" great players are capable of teaching and only a tiny percentage of them even want to. It gets even worse; store/schools mostly resort to hyping teachers from that high percentage of "advanced" players who THINK they can teach just because they have certain degrees or went to certain conservatories or schools THAT DO NOT TEACH HOW TO TEACH PRIVATELY. To them teaching is a great gig to have until they become rock stars and when they quit to go on the road or to pursue their rock star dream, the stores think they can just plug in another renter to fill the studio. If you start over with another inexperienced teacher who has never taught, your price will NOT go down.

Most private teachers fall into two categories: "street player" teachers and "pedagogy" teachers and there are two types of street players; self-taught and educated. Surprisingly, they all tend to make the fundamental mistake of assuming that learning is about the teacher when it is ALWAYS about the student. As a result they're often looking in the wrong place for your solutions. The following is a summary of what to expect with each type of teacher if they have been teaching FULL-TIME less than 10 years and much longer if only part time.

SELF TAUGHT STREET PLAYERS might play in a band and even have some great touring and professional playing credits. They operate under the “What works for me will work for you” assumption which is like saying if you graduate from the 5th grade you can teach 5th grade. Unfortunately, they become a wealth of bad habits by teaching their “shortcuts” and “secrets” without realizing that are actually very well known and that there are better ways of doing things. They tell you to “forget about reading music, just play by ear” because that’s the only thing they understand.

PEDAGOGY TEACHERS might have a degree in music education and might claim to be “certified.” Unfortunately, “legit” pedagogy programs are extremely bureaucratic, outdated and still look at guitar and bass as non-instruments.

YOU CANNOT BUY EXPERIENCE OR CREDENTIALS: Watch out for music "schools" who boast of their "certified" teachers because they are not being honest. Their definition of "certification" is not what you would expect it to mean. “Certification” the way they use (or misuse) it would best be understood better if you defined it as an agreement in which all teachers in that school are required to teach "out of their book" which in fact, makes it illegal for any teacher to diagnose and adapt to your needs because the school's curriculum is what they are trying to sell. Their certification is all self proclaimed and a HUGE RED FLAG INDICATING THAT YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE INDIVIDUALIZED, PRIVATE TRAINING THAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT

THE TRUTH ABOUT CERTIFICATION: There is no such thing as any true “certification” of guitar teachers or private teachers for that matter, but there are various pedagogy unions where you just pay your dues and you are a “certified” member and they only refer people from their paid memberships. In the public school system, most classroom guitar teachers do not even play guitar. They have a teaching credential and they likely majored or minored in music department that revolved around the marching band or a pedagogy program that requires one whole month of each additional instrument. Other teachers, myself included who have graduated from the Musicians Institute (formerly The Guitar Institute of Technology G.I.T) receive a Certification but I do not consider that as a true certification the same way "music schools" and other teachers advertise it, especially since I know that it would be a deliberate attempt to mislead clients.

WHY IS MY APPROACH SO MUCH BETTER?

Before I began my formal education, I had many years of being self-taught so I know the benefits and drawbacks of both and that allows me to give you the best of both world and avoid the standard obstacles of both. I know how comfortable bad habits can be and what it’s like to erase those habits so that’s why I have such a passion about learning things correctly the first time and how to fix them if you have fallen into similar traps.

I don’t just try to keep you busy for a week I train based on your entire future so that tips and ideas continue to benefit you fundamentally that you can teach yourself efficiently as if you were still having the benefits of teacher. I operate on the premise that I might only have you for a month and during that month, I want you to be so happy with what you have gained during that time, that I will see you again and your friends and family. If I worked at some of these schools, I would be required to question the seriousness of anyone who takes timeout from lessons as if that means they are giving up on playing.

As indicated before, I have more experience, versatility and I am more resourceful and creative than entire store school faculties. While possessing a thorough “encyclopedi”; of knowledge to approach each subject from a variety of angles, I do not fall into the common trap of burying my clients with overkill and time-wasting "feel good" assignments that only cause burnout. I use my versatility to adapt to YOUR individual needs, strengths, weaknesses and goals instead of making you adapt to mine. As a result, I will provide you with REAL solutions that are far more effective than fake shortcuts or gimmicks.

Again, it’s not about teaching, it’s about learning. While I have shown my partial resume, truthfully, no matter how impressive anyone's resume might seem, it isn't what will help YOU. I have a LOT more to offer than a very impressive resume to connect you to your goals which is really what you are paying for. I would actually rank my experience above everything else in my resume because it is much easier to learn about music than it is to learn about people and you only learn about people through experience.

A private teacher has to know MANY ways of doing things because that “homerun” lesson for one student is a “strikeout” for many others.

The odds are not very encouraging that you will have the same needs that your teacher had.

My career in publishing has provided me a very unique insight of what’s inside ALL of the wonderful methods, magazines, books, DVDs, recordings and programs available on the market. As a result I will never be threatened by your interest in these products or dismiss their value out of ignorance. I am one of the few professionals in the world who have had to thoroughly analyze, notate every note, syllable, chord and noise for recording artists of all styles from the 50’s to the present which have to pass the approval of the recording artists. As a result, I can provide you with a much deeper insight of each song that no one else can with the exception of the recording artist themselves.

If you are teaching yourself with all of these products, you might be shocked how much just one month of lessons can help you to sort out what is useful and what isn’t. Also, you can still benefit from someone who can diagnose any bad habits that you might be picking up. BONUS: There is not one single piece of ink on any of the books that I cannot explain to you, if you have ANY questions about the some of the symbols you see.

I will even say that you are better off teaching yourself with these LEGITIMATE products than you will taking years with poor training but I wouldn't say the same thing about the self-produced and self-reviewed products that are self-proclaimed as more effective than guitar lessons. They can only make that claim when compared to pedagogy style classroom instruction. Private training will always be more effective than ANY product, method or curriculum but ONLY WHEN IT IS DONE CORRECTLY. Those self produced items are just dust collectors at best, and MONEY AND TIME WASTERS if you actually use them.

Creativity and artistry will always be about decisions. These decisions can be; making goals, whether to pick up the guitar instead of the remote, planning a “workout,” or writing your own music and the decisions never stop. Do not surrender these decisions to habits or you will miss many opportunities. Do not surrender these decisions to a teacher either especially if they rely on their dogmatic assumptions and methods instead of taking the time to diagnose your “point “; and “point B.”

An experienced and versatile teacher can save you a lot of time by helping you make crucial decisions of which of these skills are relevant to your goals so that you can avoid the "busy-work" of just working on skills "just in case you might need them." The burnout from enduring the boredom or uncertainty of their effectiveness is unnecessary. My three decades of TEACHING experience is how I help you anticipate both the benefits and risks of each of your decisions and it is also how I provide you with relevant tools.

Summary: If you need it, we will cover it without overkill, but if you don’t need it, I am not going to waste your valuable time and I will let you know why. This is why private lessons, WHEN DONE CORRECTLY, are the most effective of all of your options. If you do not want to change because you have paid a sign up or registration fee that you are being ripped off. Allowing that $20 or $30 dollars to stop you from seeking better training is COSTING YOU A FORTUNE and it is that psychology that storefronts use to lock you in with them because they cannot keep clients with the quality of staff they have. There is one place that charges $45 registration and they have the worst reputation for trying to lock their customers into poor training and pressuring them into buying over-the-top instruments. You do not benefit from paying those fees in any way and those fees are MAJOR RED FLAG that you do not want to trap yourself into studying there.

•Explore Tantra in a private setting (rather than a workshop) with your partner
•Experience and learn Tantric practices tailored to your desires and needs
•Receive guidance and inspiration that is specific to your relationship
Would you like to learn tools to be more intimate with your partner? Do you feel a
little shy or apprehensive to come to a Tantra workshop where there's many other
people? Would you like to re-ignite the spark between you, fan your flame of
passion, and improve your relationship and daily life while you have a relaxing time
away from it all experiencing and practicing Tantra?
Whether you want to address specific issues in your relationship, learn skills for
creating more pleasure in your love life, or simply find out what Tantra is about...
Tantra Coaching at your home or my home might be "the way to go".
We begin our time together by co-designing with you a program specifically aimed
at your desires and needs. Tantra sessions take place on weekends. Once your
sessions are complete, you can practice your new insights and ideas you have
gained.
Fantastic Tantric massage personal coaching, I will teach you to give a very sensual massage to your partner.

Tantra Massage is designed to help men,
woman and couples seeking higher
knowledge of energy transmutation for the
purpose of spiritual and emotional
advancement, release stress and to enhance
and prolong passion and pleasure
What is the exact relationship between Tantra and sexuality?
In Tantra, sexuality is total and filled with bliss. However, Tantra is not about sex.
Sex practiced or performed in Tantra is what is taught by most teachers of this
spiritual lifestyle. In Ananda's experiential events sexual ignition energy is used as
a tool to raise the Kundalini, or the participants bioenergy. Ananda simply uses this
energy as a tool. At some point Tantrikas experience a bliss-filled state that can be
identified as asexuality. Perhaps because of general sexual suppression by cultures
and religions, ancient carvings in Nepal and India depicting unbridled sexual
sharing create indelible labels. Some Tantrikas do not engage in sex at all.
