Job title: Retail Director

Location: Tokyo

Reporting to: CEO with a dotted line report to the Global Commercial Director.
<br>

<br>
1. Manage and drive all retail activities on a daily basis and manage and challenge retail teams. Responsible for planning and driving training, merchandising, budgeting, as well as managing store development in collaboration with CEO.
<br>
2. Proactive management of store managers and store staff through leadership, training and supervision to ensure highest level of customer service, store experience and product knowledge.

1. Managing and controlling store budgets, product ordering, merchandising
<br>
2. Store development, with CEO, including negotiation with department stores for key terms such as location, zoning, rent, capex
<br>
3. Management of store managers and staff, including
<br>
• supervision of hiring/firings and evaluations
<br>
• management and driving of incentive program for retail teams
<br>
• proactive problem solving to daily store related issues raised by managers/staff
<br>
4. Responsible for cost control and effectiveness in operation by monitoring all system activities
<br>
5. Quantitative and qualitative analysis and reporting of sales results
<br>
6. Managing and driving retail marketing and promotional programs including CRM and in-store and ‘gaisho’ events in collaboration with marketing team
<br>
<br>
<br>
1. Minimum 5-7 years experience in luxury retail (fashion RTW preferable, but other luxury sectors such as shoes, accessories, jewellery, etc. also possible)
<br>
2. Requires strong retail operations experience in fashion retail and in-depth knowledge of latest fashion trends and market information.
<br>
3. Strong leadership and motivational skills, people and team management skills and willingness to be proactive and hands-on are essential.
<br>
4. Strong planning and collaborative skills
<br>
5. Strong communication and negotiation skills
<br>
6. Analytical and financial skills for store planning and budgeting
<br>
7. Hard-working professional, with ‘hands-on’ and open-minded attitude
<br>
8. English skills mandatory
